Alicia Hill was in our child care and early learning programs from the time she was eight months old until she entered kindergarten. She remembers learning through play at stations, the role model educators (Miss Sara and Miss Hollie) that she still has a relationship with today, and going from being a very shy toddler to an outgoing one who didn’t want to leave.

Alicia’s time at Maven Lane (then NOCCS), led her to become more confident and independent—qualities that have helped enable her to succeed in karate and earn a black belt. Alicia, a member of the Canadian Martial Arts team, has medaled at national competitions and competes internationally. Today, when she’s not busy training, competing or studying, she enjoys teaching karate to children.
